| Experimental: | - Imagined Landscapes, Summer 2010
A series of 4 images where i've incorporated fractal based imagery within the landscape to help extenuate the feeling of the image and add s' mo' drama! I wanted to create something surreal...without being tacky or cliche, you be the judge! With these images I am trying to visualize what it might look like to see a 4th dimensional object or at the very least our planet inside a membrane of the multiverse. - Bright Lights of a Dim Idea, Summer 2010
While out shooting with a fellow photographer and friend from Havana I shot these while meditating on the idea of progress and sustainability as I stood out front of an oil refinary. Plus it gave me the time to practice and challenge my lightwritting skill while being behind the camera. |
| Documentary: | - Winter ends and Spring Begins, March 2012
I shot these photos within a 2 week span and during a drastic change in the weather. - Workshop, June 2011
I wanted to capture the essence of my friends workshop, the amazingly practical, dusty(not to dusty), rustic, homey and inspired space; his personal sanctuary. I also tried to translate the good vibes around of 3 friends having coffee and cigarettes; most of all I wanted to help tell the story and capture the memory of the event. - Studio in the Making, Dec 2011
Simply a few shots of the the studio room, I wanted to capture the mood and inspiring things I choose to keep around so far, not to mention the equipment. - The Real Moosejaw, Spring 2009
Having some time to shoot the city of moosejaw, well what I could reach on foot nearby I decided to really get into the depths of the place. I explored the allyways, the streets and the skies. Living nearby moosejaw all I hear about is the supposed Al Capone visit, the Tunnels and the casino... I wanted to see and capture the rest of it. - A Sad Day and a Storm, Spring 2006
Soon after hearing a very tragic story of a friend of mine I decided the best way to meditate on the idea of life, love and loss was taking the day to shoot the storm moving in and taking over the city. I hoped to capture this in a very emotional way, with some resembalance of a silver lining. - A Birds View, Summer 2010
In this one I wanted to really emurse myself in storytelling, I tryed to leave every image with a story if its own, the people really speak to their lives and tell a story on their own and I chose the angle of an observer; the birds eye view. I was thinking of Hitchcocks movie Rear Window. The water shots are meant to represent ones lifespan and how every choice changes the direction in one way or another...I have tons more to write about this one but hey, just ask haha. - Hotel Marlborough, Summer 2008
What an amazingly strange place to stay, scary and wierd, my kind of place! The kind of place I'd like to spend a few months while working on some new music... tons of influence to gain here! Music wasn't in the bag so I tryed to capture the place as best I could at 6:00am... yikes.

| Natural | - Oceanview, April 2012
A series of photos from a ferry ride to Vancouver and then an awesome find location wise near Sidney by the Sea. - Mile Zero, February 2012- I decided to go for a early morning walk along the coastline near mile zero in Victoria, just before it started to rain quite hard. It was a very refreshing and relaxing walk but the environment around me was quite dramatic, with these photos I tried to caputre that drama.
- Winter Lights Jan 2012- These are a few photos where I forget the blur, forget the colour and just let nature shape the mood with these.
- Upstream! November 2011
Again, i'm just exploring... These shots were taken during the time the salmon swim upstream to spawn, quite a site! - Fall in our New 'Hood, October 2011(not a flash slideshow this time...give anyone on an ipad/pod a chance to see it haha)
These were shot while walking around the new neighborhood! I had to shoot the amazing colours, colours unlike any fall i've seen in my life having grown up in Saskatchewan. I also was composing them in a way that to me felt very musical, I suppose resonant of a dancer on stage, or a musician feel'n the mojo and completely submersed in sound (this is a ongoing idea behind most of my photos). - A Train Crash Survivor in the Prairie, Summer 2010
I wanted to tell another story with this one, I imagined myself being a survivor of a train crash and the things I might see while searching around looking for help. A bit of a strech I admit but hey it helped me look at the surrondings differently. - Last Winter, Winter 2010
While walking around I couldnt help but see that everything around me was completely frozen in time! The world had stopped as far as I could tell and hey I was feeling a little the same way. I think these photos really capture that cold stillness of morning time on a Regina winters day (if I remember right it was -30something degree celcius that day). I also showed some influences in this one; Van Gogh etc... with my own spin of course. - Running Back to Saskatoon, Summer 2009
I was on a road trip to Saskatoon and decided I will stop at every place that I always said I should stop at during previous travel. So I did! This is the result, I love taking the time to explore areas less traveled or in this case less stopped haha. - Prairies, Spring 2008
I shot these photos while I was voulenteering at the MS Bike Tour as photographer, it was an emotional day in a lot of ways for everyone, these are a few images of the road along the way. |
