Open Door - Lightwritting film by Corey Bryson with lightwriting by Colby Avram.

I used over 3000 frames/photos to make this one! Few! I'd say around 10,000 were taken. I really amped up the overall film this year as I took tons of time to make it with the help of Colby Avram. I considered every edit, every transition, and well I suppose every frame with intention and criticism in hopes for a mind blowing vid.

I feel it us a story of time and its relativity also the endless possibilities of the universe; taking the viewer nearer towards the speed of light. Created for display in the Cathedral Arts Festival animating our 2nd floor windows with a dual-video projection installation. I created images through an emerging form of stop motion animation wherein still images captured using the technique known as lightwriting are put in sequence thereby creating the optical illusion of movement for the viewer. Featuring lightwriting by Colby Avram!

Interestingly enough the lightwriting graffiti style animations were all drawn and photographed during Thursday nights between 9:00-12:00 and was also projected at the event during the exact same time! Completely unintentional and fun considering the feel of the video. Also we seemed to subconsciously be recreating our surrounding with the light drawings, something seemed to move Colby and I instead of us moving it; a strange transcription.
